This portable e-book reader review is going to focus on the Amazon Kindle because everywhere I go, I see people using them; at airports, in trains, waiting at the doctor’s surgery.  I just had to find out why this e-book reader was so good and this is what I found.

1.    Weight.  At 247 grams, the Kindle weighs less than the average paperback.
2.    Size.  The dimensions of the Kindle are 190 mm x 123 mm x 8.5 mm which is also less that the average paperback and easily fits a jacket pocket or a normal sized handbag.
3.    Reading in sunlight.  With some tablet PCs, glare is a big issue if you want to read on the beach or in the garden but the Kindle’s  electronic ink screen, not only uses ink but actually looks just like ink on a page made of real paper.
4.    Book storage.  This e-book reader has room to store around 3,500 books and even if you should exceed this number, you can store the excess in your Amazon account.

5.    Internet access.  If you choose the 3G version of the Kindle, you can download a fresh supply of books in more than one hundred countries and you don’t even need to be in range of a wi-fi network.  It works like GPS and you don’t have to pay any fee for this service.

iPad for one week. I love them all, but the iPad has won me over. Here’s what I’ve experienced so far:

Versatility – applications, movies, music, photos, Internet efficiently, color display, intuitive graphical user interface consists of the hands of IPAD winners in this category.

PRICE - IPAD ignite, so far away. If the budget is ignited a hundred dollars, as it is a good player. If you pay a little more IPAD ..go a lot more versatile. If the DX Kindle a couple of hundred dollars less, the bed would be great.

SCREENE – Ink is much easier to read, especially in the sun. And without the display lights up the display does not stain as easily IPAD. However IPAD has a large color screen, and then in the habit of reading is not difficult. I especially like the display is lit at night, reading in bed ..I read the contents of my heart and not mind my wife is asleep. Replace the helmet and the iTunes library is available, I have read. If the device you want to read books, Kindle wins. If the colors and the screen, graphics, books and pictures will clearly win the IPAD.

PAGE INTERFACE – I like to turn the page Kindle much better than a good IPAD. IPAD is a cool visual feedback page (it seems that the page is actually made), the touch screen and it is sensitive to a small border around the screen. The result is that I always turn the page IPAD, when I want. Kindle buttons to win the hand.

Kindle is a good product, but reflecting the IPAD, the device is very expensive. The library is still the standard by which all others are criticized, and purchase e-books for you, but read the IPAD. In the few cases when I on the beach, which must be read in direct sunlight I am, my Kindle, because it is an advantage.

The Kindle is probably the most popular of all ebook readers and there are a number of reasons why this is. Firstly the six inch screen offers an excellent clarity in text. The special technology, named ‘e-ink’ ensures that the viewing of books on the device are authentic compared to that of the look of a page in an actual book. There is no glare as there would be from a device with LCD screens such as the iPad and the contrast in the Kindle 2 is improved over the original. Even in direct sunlight there was no glare so using this to read on the beach should be no problem.

Better still is the ability to hold about 3500 books on the device. When you consider that the new Kindle is about the length and width of a typical pencil, it is a lot smaller than carrying all of those books around!
